Obituary

Dorothy Marie Humphrey McClure entered into God's eternal place of rest and peace at the age of 91. She was born to Irene Adella Smith Humphrey and Carl Edward Humphrey in Greenville, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents, two Infant borthers, Raymond and William, two adult brothers, LeRoy and Donald, and a sister, Betty Keck.

She is survived by her husband, Clair, her brother, Kenneth Humphrey and her sister, Gloria Ann Robinson.

Dottie graduated from Penn High School in Greenville, Pennsylvania in 1948. She married her high school sweetheart on September 10, 1948 They looked forward to the celebration of their 73rd wedding anniversary next month.

They lived in Greenville until her husband finished college, and then they moved to Mercer, Pa. in 1951. Her several jobs included store clerk, many secreterial positions in Greenville, Mercer and Columbus Ohio, twice as a restaurateur, being a loving and supporting wife to Clair, and being a loving example to their three children: Diana Lynn Brewington, Linda Lee Carpec, and Paul Douglas McClure, their eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

After retiring In 1986, they moved to Savanna Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida where Dottie was very active in golf (3 aces,) writing and acting In theater, group tap dancing for the elderly, several community committees and church work at First Presbyterian Church of Port St. Lucie.

She had a God-given talent of planning and organizing activities, and loving others as she loved herself. Every employer was sorry to see her go as she advanced to another job of service. She had a heart-warming smile that melted the hearts of friend and foe alike. Her friends and entire family will miss her graciousness.

A memorial celebration will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Walton Road on September 4, 2021.
