Douglas Thomas,53 of Palm City passed away after a 5 year battle with cancer with his family by his side. He was born on January 18, 1966 in Danville, Illinois. Growing up he enjoyed playing sports. In high school he was very athletic and played football,baseball, and was on the wrestling team. He moved to Florida after he graduated. He enjoyed being outdoors which lead to him choosing a career in lawn maintenance. Some years later he became a superintendent at a local golf course where he helped redesign and grow in the course. Star Trek was one of his favorite things. He also enjoyed working on computers.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years Dorene Thomas of Palm City, his son Jefferey (Eulalia)Thomas and stepson Scott (Tara) Anderson; his mother Karen Thomas, father Marvin Thomas and step mother Nancy Thomas. He left behind two brothers, Dale and Dennis Thomas; four grandchildren, Sophia and Nicholas Thomas, Myles and Marley Anderson.

Everyone who met him knew he had a caring and loving heart. He will be missed by many.
