OBITUARY

Our beloved Doyal Wayne Parks passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 8, 2021 at 90 years old.  Doyal was born on December 8, 1930 to James Ira Parks and Jesse McVay Parks in Ryan, OK.  Doyal's father passed away at an early age so immediately after high school, Doyal entered the workforce to help support his sisters and the farm.  His tremendous success as a salesman in the paper products industry led him to start his own paper company in Marion, Indiana – Boots Creek Paper Company.

During his many trips to Chicago, he met his beautiful wife, Maria Rosa "Rose" Carvalho, who preceded him in death.  They were married for 38 years and lived a long and wonderful life together.  They lived out their retirement in the Harbour Ridge golf community in Palm City, Florida.  Harbour Ridge gave them some of their best friends in life.  Like Rose, Doyal was the youngest of six children.  He has a sister, Artie Hunter, who survives him.  His brother, Leon Parks, and the other three sisters, Estelle King, Roberta Bishop, and Jerry Widener all preceded him in death.  Doyal was a loving and proud father to three incredible children who all survive him, Judy Knight and her husband Gordon, James Parks and his wife Ruth Ann, and Tami Green and her husband Jack.  Doyal was also a fun-loving and caring Pappy Doyal (Grandfather) to five grandchildren – Heather and husband Brent, Keenan and wife Meighan, Jamie, Jenny and husband Cray, and Megan husband Matt.  He also had nine great grandchildren – Cade, Carter, Jaxon, Waylon, Lincoln, Avalon, Jackie, Noah and Juliette.   He also leaves many loved nieces and nephews.

Doyal was a special man who was kind and generous to everyone.  He had a remarkable love for his friends, and he loved his family with an endless passion.  He will be missed immensely!
