Durwood Creed passed away on December 20, 2016. He was born on August 2, 1929 in Columbia, Missouri and spent his childhood in that state. He moved to Rome, NY at the age of 13 and remained there until his retirement to Florida, at the age of 65. In 1953 he graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University with a major in physics. In that same year he married Eleanor McSparron and began his employment at the Rome Air Development Center. He worked as an electronic engineer at the Rome Air Development Center (RADC) for 31 years, retiring in 1984. He is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor McSparron Creed, his parents, one brother and two sisters.

As the author of this obituary I, Durwood, would like to offer the following observations. As I reflect back, it's difficult to imagine a better life than I have had. I've had 56 years of an ideal marriage, 31 years of an enjoyable and constructive working career, lots of good friends and close relatives. Who could ask for more than that?
