IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward Arthur
Church Jr.
December 26, 1939 – June 25, 2023
Ed was born in Buffalo, New York on December 26, 1939, to Mamie Church. When he was six months old, he and his mother moved to West Palm Beach, Florida area where he lived for over 83 years. He attended Palm Beach High and graduated with the class of 1959.
After high school, Ed worked several jobs, including at Channel 12 & Channel 5 until found his calling and went to work for FAU. He worked at FAU for more than 30 years in their film department as a producer/director until he retired in 1997.
Ed was a single father of two sons, James and Jeff when he met Nancy, the LOVE of his life, at a nursery school with her son Raymond (Buddy). They wed on November 8, 1968, and together they became a family of five. In 1970 their family (and love) grew by one more when they welcomed a fourth son, Russell.
As a family, they worked hard and played hard. He helped coach his kids in many sports and also loved going to watch his grand kids play sports as well. Ed and Nancy got into owning greyhounds for a few years. He loved animals and made sure all dogs were adopted.
Having raised their sons, Ed and Nancy became empty nesters who enjoyed going on cruises. (He loved the Caribbean's).
Ed was known by many names, he was a friend, a son, a father, a husband but the thing he enjoyed being called the most was grandpa and great grandpa. He was quick with a smile and a chuckle and the occasional bad dad joke. He had the best hugs and "I love you too's". He and Nancy moved to Port Saint Lucie two years ago and has enjoyed their new home.
Edward passed away suddenly on June 25,2023. He was predeceased by his mother Mamie. He is survived by his wife Nancy of 54 years, his son James, (grandson Robert), son Jeff (granddaughters Stevi Kaminski (Devin), great granddaughter Harli and Codi Hawkins (Ryan), son Raymond Sr. (Karen) (grandsons Raymond Jr. (Christina), great granddaughter Madilyn, and Ryan (Judy), great granddaughter Riley), son Russell (Leah), grandson Dillon, great granddaughter Mackenzie Nagy and great grandsons Elijah and Jerimiah Church.
May he rest in peace and watch over his loved ones. The world was a better place with him in it and we are all better people for knowing him.
