Obituary of Edward Laughlin

Edward J. Laughlin, 87, of Port St. Lucie, passed away January 3, 2009 at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie since 1985, moving from Brigantine, NJ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. He worked as a supervisor for the City of Brigantine Water Department before retirement. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Elks Club of Port St. Lucie, and the V.F.W. and the American Legion both in Brigantine.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Elsie Laughlin of Port St. Lucie; daughter, Joan Wolf of Sewell, NJ; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; Sister, Eleanor Bennett of Levittown, PA; and brother, Michael Laughlin of Wildwood, NJ. He was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held 10:00AM Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 865 SE Monterey Commons Blvd., Stuart, FL 34996, in Edward's memory.

Arrangements are entrusted to Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.
