Edward Lewis Bancroft lived a life defined by love, service, and remarkable achievements. A proud Army veteran who attended the University of Connecticut, Ed approached every endeavor with passion and dedication. His most treasured relationship was with his beloved wife Lucy May, with whom he shared 65 extraordinary years of marriage before her passing in 2022.

Together, Ed and Lucy explored the world, with Cancun holding a special place in their hearts. His professional life was equally adventurous, as a pioneer in Electron Beam Development who became the first person worldwide certified in laser welding. His expertise was so respected that he was invited to China during a time of restricted access – a milestone that filled both him and Lucy with immense pride.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ed was a competitive doubles tennis player who won numerous tournaments and a true sports car enthusiast. His friends affectionately knew him as "Ferrari Ed", a nickname that captured his love for speed and style, particularly his beloved Ferrari.

Ed is survived by his daughters Janice and Wendy, and he is reunited with his son Eddie, who passed in 2015. His life was a beautiful testament to love, innovation, and an unquenchable spirit of adventure – a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
