Obituary of Edward Novakowski

Edward Novakowski, 86, of Horseheads, NY, formerly of Port St. Lucie, died September 14, 2008 at St. Josephs Hospital in Elmira, NY. Edward was born in Southington, CT.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Force.

Before retiring he was a custodian for the Central Islip Hospital in Islip, L.I., NY and South Fork High School in Stuart, FL.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Polly R. Jones Novakowski; sons, Edward Novakowski of Ocala, FL and Bruce Novakowski with the U.S. Navy; daughter-in-law; Cindy Novakowski of Maine and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son James Novakowski in July 2001; his daughter, Donna Waters in October 2000 and seven brothers.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, September 19, 2008 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel. A funeral service will follow held at 1:30 PM, September 20, 2008 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City with military honors will be provided by the Patrick Air Force Base Honor Guard.
