Age: 95. My dad was born and raised in Olyphant, Pennsylvania. He married my Mom, Emily C. Teddick, on May 20, 1954 in Clifton, New Jersey, and they resided most of their married life in Wayne, New Jersey. They had two children together, Edward W. Teddick II, currently age 57, and Juliette D. Ryan, currently age 53. My dad is predeceased by his wife, Emily, since September 2, 1999 and is survived by his son, Edward W. Teddick II, his wife, Cindy, and their three children, Jeana Emily, Michael Edward, and Joseph Walter of Washington, New Jersey. He is also survived by his daughter, Juliette D. Ryan, her husband, John J. Ryan, and their son, Shane Joseph Ryan of Wayne, New Jersey. My parents moved to Palm City, Florida upon retiring in 1994, a longtime dream retirement for them.
My dad was an accountant for 14 years for Linde Air Products Co., a division of Union Carbide Corp. in Newark, New Jersey. He left in 1959 and started his own business as a life insurance broker and financial service advisor until his retirement in 1994.
As a businessman and professional advisor, my dad had received numerous service awards such as: Instructor for Life with the Underwriting Training Council; National Sales Achievement Award; Health Insurance Quality Award; National Quality Award; New Jersey Leaders Club; and the Life Underwriters of the Year Award for New Jersey.
My dad was a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee in Wayne, New Jersey, a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, and the President of the local National Association of Life Underwriters.
My dad was a member of the Elks Lodge in New Jersey since 1945, and he was an organizer for the charter of Elks Lodge #2181 in Wayne, New Jersey where he served as the First Exalted Ruler. He also served on numerous committees at the local and state level and has attained a Life Membership in the Elks, being a member for 72 years.
My dad was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, New Jersey, where he received a degree in Business Management.
My dad was a member of Holy Redeemer Church in Palm City, Florida. He enjoyed golfing, swimming, cooking, miniature collectible cars, coin collecting, and watching sports.
A visitation will be held at 4-7pm on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City, Florida and his funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 10:00 am at Holy Redeemer Church in Palm City, Florida. Entombment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997 in loving memory of Edward's wife, Emily C. Teddick.
