Obituary of Edwin Brainerd
Dr. Edwin G. Brainerd, DMD, 94 of Palm City, FL passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 at his home.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut he had been a resident of Palm City coming from Windom, CT. He also had lived in Madison, CT.
As a youth he attended the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT. He received his pre-med degree at Trinity College in Hartford and his doctorate at the Tufts University College of Dentistry in Boston MA.
During World War II he was a captain in the US Army and was a dentist attached to "Merrill's Marauders" in Burma.
Before retiring he was a dentist in Willimantic, CT for 42 years.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Marjorie Brainerd; his sons Dr. Edwin G. Brainerd Jr and his wife Sally of Anderson, SC and Jeffrey S. Brainerd of Arlington, VT; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son Richard Brainerd.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel.
