Obituary of Edwin Nelson

Edwin T. "Sammy" Nelson, 71, of Port St. Lucie, died December 5, 2012 at his home.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, WI, he had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 5 years, having moved from Brooklyn, New York.

He had attended St. George's College, Kingston, Jamaica, WI.

Before retiring he was the general manger and accountant for Jamaica Wood Products in Kingston, Jamaica for, over 20 years. He had attended Faith Center International, Port St. Lucie.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Norma L. "Ava" Nelson of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Brenda "Annie" Nelson of Atlanta, Georgia, Natalie "Shelly" Nelson-Roberts of Port St. Lucie, Claudia "Zoie" Nelson-Sifflet of Marietta, Georgia and Garcia "Kim" Nelson-McDonald of Port St. Lucie; sisters, Claudette "Sunshine" Coubourne and Pam Nelson, both of Palm Bay, FL; brothers, Norman Nelson of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Lloyd Coubourne of Daytona, FL, Derrick Ebanks of The Cayman Islands and Erol Smickle of Jamaica, WI; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Nelson.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on December 15, 2012 at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel with a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Leo McDonald of the First Community Church of God, Port St. Lucie, officiating.
