Obituary

Eileen Dalton Wozneski accepted her invitation to heaven and passed peacefully on August 11 th , 2019 under the care of Cleveland Clinic and Vitas Hospice surrounded and comforted by her children. She was a natural born Floridian, born and raised in Palm Beach, who grew up swimming in the ocean and playing in the sand.

She met the love of her life, Barney, shortly after WW2 and married him on Aug 16,  1947.  They had four children together and lived happily as husband and wife until he succumbed to Parkinson's disease in 1998. His job as a commercial airline pilot allowed them to travel the world but no matter where they went, she always said Florida was her home. They raised their children on Key Biscayne and in Coral Gables and finally retired to a waterfront home in Ft. Pierce.  Barney's convalescence brought them to Sandhill Cove in Palm City where she was one of the first residents on the property, and Barney was one of the first in Waters Edge.

Eileen loved Sandhill Cove and lived there for 26 years. She immersed herself into the community and happily served on the marketing  committee, as a librarian, and a volunteer at Waters Edge Skilled Nursing facility.  For many years she was the resident window dresser, changing the clubhouse display window regularly to reflect the holiday seasons and showcase resident's private collections of artwork and memorabilia.

She is survived by her son Steve Wozneski, her daughters Kerry Firth and Tina Cannavino, her daughter in law Tina Jo Wozneski, son-in-law Micheal Cannavino, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband Barney and beautiful daughter Cynthia. She lived a full and wonderful life worth celebrating with joy and jubilation.  In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to https://www.parkinson.org in her memory.
