Elaine Shirley Cardoza, 78, of Palm City, Florida, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.

Elaine was born March 19, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York to Einar and Sigrid (Blix) Oen. She graduated from Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn, New York. On August 1, 1959 she married Ken Cardoza and went on to have 4 children. Elaine worked as a secretary at a church in Brooklyn. While residing in New Jersey, she worked as a banking secretary in Ringwood and later as a secretary at Ramapo College in Oakland. She loved reading and traveling, but enjoyed spending time with her family and friends most.

Elaine is survived by 4 children: Linda and her husband Lee Sistarelli, Stephen and his wife Danielle Cardoza, Nancy Donadio, Valerie and her husband Chip Cody; 5 grandchildren, Scott and Brian Sistarelli, Brittany Cardoza, Leslie and Holly Donadio, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken Cardoza. Elaine will be missed dearly. Guests are welcome to join us for the services.

Visitation will be for 10:00 to 11:00 am Thursday, January 26 at Forest Hills Funeral Home., 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, Florida, 34990. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, with Father Todd Cederberg officiating. Burial will follow immediately in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
