Elaine Ruth Eckhaus, 93, of Aventura, Florida, passed away on November 26, 2018 at her home.

Born in Trenton, NJ, the middle child of five, she had been a resident of Miami-Dade County for many years.  She also had resided in Brooklyn, NY, Sioux City, IA and Philadelphia, PA.

She was a homemaker but after her husband Ralph passed away she worked as a receptionist in a law firm in Bal Harbor, FL.

She is survived by her daughter, Elyse Beth Levine of Hollywood, FL and her sister, Rosalie Levine.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Eckhaus, her brother, Newton "Newty" Millner and her sisters, Doris Olin, and Prudence "Prudy" Hait.

Elaine was a warm, compassionate woman who always went out of her way to help others, no matter what.  She was a proud and independent woman who had a passion for life.  She had a wonderful sense of humor which endeared her to everyone she came in contact with and she formed many long friendships over the years.

There will be a traditional graveside service at 12:00 PM on November 29, 2018 at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, FL.
