Elaine Ruth Morrison passed away peacefully on Oct. 17th 2024 with her beloved cat Stormy nestled at her side.

Elaine Ruth Dawson was born on Oct. 27th 1919 in Baltimore Maryland to Mildred and Arthur Dawson. Elaine went by her middle name Ruth for most of her life. Ruth was married 3 times, but was a very strong and independent woman for the time. She worked as a telephone operator and ventured out to California where she secured employment, but quickly came back to Maryland to care for her parents. She settled on the outskirts of Annapolis, Maryland and into her position as a legislative librarian for the state legislature, a career she loved.

Ruth was predeceased by her only son Lloyd who was the light of her life, and with whom she shared her love of sailing. She was also predeceased by her 3rd husband Robert Morrison, who she spent her later years traveling extensively and going on cruises and  her two younger brothers, Robert and Gilbert Dawson.

Her proudest accomplishment was having her house built in the Eaglewood Golf Community located in Hobe Sound, Florida in 1987 and paying it off in full. It was here that she enjoyed sharing her home with family, friends, and neighbors.

Ruth died in her home10 days before her 105th birthday. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
