Ernest F. Barina, 80, of Stuart, Florida, passed away on February 19, 2018 at the Martin Medical Center, Stuart.

Born in Jamaica, New York, he had been a resident of Stuart for 35 years coming from Ronkonkoma, NY.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Before retiring he was an aircraft mechanic with Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, New York and in Stuart, where he met his wife.  While at Grumman, he worked on the LEM program and his name is inscribed on the LEM on the Moon.

He was a member of the Masons.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Wanda Barina of Stuart; his son, Randall Owen Barina of Groveland, FL; his daughter, Joy Thorpe and her husband, Keith of Stuart; his step sons, Richard Scott Tate and his wife Donna of Indiantown, FL, Timothy Charles Tate of Port St. Lucie, FL and Rev. Lawrence Dwayne Tate and his wife Denise of White House, TN; a sister Hope Barina of Largo, FL; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
