Ernestine Ida Lewis passed away at her home in Stuart, FL with family by her side on July 21, 2020.  She was born 91 years ago in Boston, MA. She grew up on a farm in Easton and then she raised her family also in Easton.  These experiences caused her to withstand many of the hardships that came her way.  During her midlife years she and Arthur moved to Florida with the youngest child to start a new life in the place they planned to retire, and to be near to one of her daughters, Debora, who also lived there and who lovingly cared for her during her last year of illness.  Her hobbies were crocheting and knitting, reading, games with her friends, and gardening among other things.  A highlight of her life in her later years, when she was 85, was a Caribbean Disney cruise vacation with several of her daughters.

She is survived by her seven children, Karen (Jack) of AZ, Debora of FL, Wendeline (Edward) of NH, Donna (Henry) of FL,  Dianne of CO, Winslow of FL and Kimberly of FL and by four stepchildren, David, Beverly, Jeffrey (Heidi) and Gary, from a previous marriage by her late husband Arthur Lewis.  Ernestine's husband, Arthur, and her son, Joseph preceded her in death, as did two previous husbands, Joseph Sr. and Winslow Sr., during her long life.  She is also survived by her sister, Martha and Rhea, as well as many nieces and nephews and more than 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date still to be determined.  In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL  34997 in Ernestine's memory.
