IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ersilio
Cerminaro
April 22, 1929 – February 14, 2026
Ersilio Cerminaro, 96, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14th, surrounded by the love of his family.
Raised in Italy during the hardships of World War II, Ersilio developed the resilience, strength, and extraordinary work ethic that would define his life. He later returned to the United States, where he built not only a career but a legacy rooted in service, faith, and devotion to family.
Ersilio's primary profession was as a 30-year member of the production team at Syracuse China. Contributing to many innovations that are used today. He also proudly served as a part-time member of the East Syracuse Police Department, where he was respected for his integrity, compassion, and steady presence. His commitment to serving others extended far beyond his profession. A devoted volunteer, he gave countless hours to St. Matthew's Church in East Syracuse and was an active and faithful member of the Knights of Columbus. Upon relocating to Port St. Lucie, Florida, he continued his lifelong commitment to faith and service. He became an active member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where he was beloved by all.
Ersilio found joy in life's simple and beautiful pleasures. He was a passionate winemaker, carefully crafting and sharing his homemade wine with pride and generosity. A gifted and intuitive gardener, he had a remarkable ability to make anything grow, tending his garden with patience and love. He delighted in teaching, especially sharing his knowledge, skills, and wisdom with his sons-in-law, children, and grandchildren. His lessons were not only about gardening and winemaking but about perseverance, faith, and the value of hard work.
Compassionate, sensitive, and deeply faithful, Ersilio was well respected and loved by all who knew him. His life was a testament to devotion — to his wife, his family, his church, and his community. His legacy lives on in the strong family he nurtured, the values he instilled, and the countless lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
Above all, Ersilio was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 73 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Norma Gladys Santiago Cerminaro, a partnership built on unwavering love and devotion. Together they created a family that was the center of his world.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Norma; his children, Janet Robainas (Regino), Maria Roder (David), Jessica Bunting (Dennis), Debbie Brazill, Ersilio Cerminaro (Susan), and Ginger Barnello (Peter); his grandchildren, Jason Cerminaro, William Rood, Robert R. Tew, Nathan Roder, Garrett Bunting, Michael Anthony Tew, Amanda Johnson, John Brazill, Ersilio Cerminaro III, and his great-grandchildren, Juliann Karney and Oliver Brazill.
