Obituary of Festus Mayers

Festus O. Mayers, 84, of Port St. Lucie, died November 17, 2012 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce.

Born in Guyana, and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 22 years, having moved from Brooklyn, New York.

He had Sergeant with the Security Service at the United Nations before. He had also been a fireman in Guyana. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Port St. Lucie.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Gwendolyn Mayers of Port St. Lucie; a daughter, Angela Gordon of Boston, MA; sons, Medwin Mayers of New York, NY; a step daughter, Roxanne Harry of Abingdon, MD; one grandson and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Otto Mayers.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM on November 24, 2012 at the First Congregational Church of Port St. Lucie with a funeral service at 12:45 PM. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
