December 31, 1932 – November 30, 2025
Frances M. Schwab, 92, of Palm City, passed away peacefully on Nov 30, 2025. She was born in Kimball Township, Mich. in 1932. After high school, she lived in Port Huron, Mich, where she worked at Bell Telephone. In 1954, she married Charles Schwab and they raised a family of 6 children. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years, teaching girls about community service and the joy of learning new things with their badges.
In 1973, she and Chuck formed the Blue Water Swim Club for hundreds of young competitive swimmers over the years, still active today. For this, in 1985 they were inducted into the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame. They loved the waterfront, and enjoyed boat trips with family on the Great Lakes and later along the eastern seaboard.
In 1984 they moved to Stuart and Palm City FL area. She was an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City, and their Women's Guild. She loved participating in the annual Christmas Holiday Fair. For many years she was a volunteer for The Light of the World Charities medical mission, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
As an avid gardener, she joined the Garden Club of Stuart, where her team planted butterfly gardens at elementary schools. She enjoyed collecting and cultivating orchids.
She loved playing Bridge, crafting her angel ornaments, shelling at the beach, her kitties, and above all, being with family. She had a deep devotion for her family, and as a wonderful mother and caring person, she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her children: Eric von Schwab (Lynn), of Coconut Grove; Laurie Schwab (Mark Novak), of Fort Pierce; Mark Schwab (Anelly), of Palm City; Lisa Schwab, of Boca Raton; Gregg Schwab, of Royal Oak, Mich.; and Tina Brodersen (Rob), of Palm Harbor; six grandchildren Nicholas Schwab (Anna); Derek Schwab (Samantha); Charles Schwab; Zack Brodersen; Taylor Brodersen and Tristan von Schwab; one great grandchild, Lucas; and three step great grandchildren Karolina, Timur and Milana.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles; and 2 brothers Robert, and Donald Tomlinson of Mich.
Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, FL; or, Caring Fields Felines, non-profit shelter Palm City, FL
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Dec. 10th at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City. Entombment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
