Obituary for Francois "Balker" Lazare

Francois "Balker" Lazare (86) passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 28 ^th in Palm City, Florida.

Balker was born on December 27, 1936 and grew up in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was a loving, caring, and dedicated father and husband. He cherished all of his family members and was a caring friend who likes to cheer people up with his sense of humor.

He had a love for motorcycles, baseball, his dogs, and soccer. Balker was a big New York Mets fan, but when he moved to Florida he eventually became a Marlins fan but loved both of the teams.

Balker enjoyed cooking and gardening, and he would brag about it to his friends. One of his favorite things to do is "pickliz' with hot peppers grown in his own garden.

Balker was survived by his wife Marie-Bernard Lazare; his son, Jean-Robert Lazare; his daughter, Kerline Lazare (Richard Smith); son, Christopher Lazare;  daughter, Magda Polycarp; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Balker will be missed by his family and friends but greatly by his wife of 36 years.
