Frank Apa, 94, of Hobe Sound, FL passed away in peace on September 30, 2020. Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 4, 1925. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Frank was a great man, he befriended others instantly with his kind, generous manner.  He was sincere and caring, a rarity today, who would help total strangers in need. He was passionate about his family as they were the center of his world.

Frank was employed by Grumman Aerospace Corporation for over 30 years, towards the last term of his employment he relocated to the plant in Stuart, FL where he retired from Grumman. While employed by Grumman Frank was awarded the Pride of Workmanship President's and Director's Awards along with several Citations of Excellence for consistent care and craftmanship that contributed to the delivery of an outstanding and high-quality product to Grumman customers. At Grumman Frank was involved with the Lunar Module that was used with Apollo 12, the Tom Cat, and F-14. While at the Bethpage, NY plant Frank participated in the Grumman Bowling League which he not only enjoyed but had won numerous trophies for his professional level skills.  After retirement, Frank became a full-timer RV enthusiast and traveled across the US many times. He had a huge heart for animals which there was never a shortage of in his home.

His loving wife of 68 years, Helen Apa continues to reside at the Terrace at Hobe Sound. He is survived and remembered by their children: Sharon Gerstmann, Frank R. Apa, Karen Apa, and Russell Apa, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 3 great – great grandchildren. He was the proud father of two deceased sons Alan Apa and Joseph Apa.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 pm, on Thursday, 10/8/2020 at Forest Hills Palm City Chapel, Palm City. There will be a service at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 10 am, on Friday, 10/9/2020. The Burial will immediately follow at Forest Hill Palm City Memorial Park, Palm City, FL.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
