Obituary of Frank Smallhorne

Frank Gerald Smallhorne, 91, of Port St. Lucie, died April 16, 2009. He was born in the small town of Dry Hill, Duncans, in the parish of Trelawny, Jamaica, West Indies. He was a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, where he achieved the rank of Detective Corporal. He remained with the Force for 14 years. He came to the United States in 1952, and first resided in Harlem of New York City. Frank worked as an electronic technician for Emerson TV in New Jersey; in the distribution center of Book of the Month Club in Manhattan; then finally joined the New York City Transit Authority. He received several promotions until his retirement in 1984. He moved to Port St. Lucie in 1985.

Frank was a member of the First Congregational Church of Port St. Lucie, and served as a Deacon, a member of the Men's Fellowship and as one of their groundskeepers.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Lula Smallhorne; daughter, Yvonne Clayton; son, Andrew Smallhorne; and 3 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9:00 - 11:00AM, on April 25, at the First Congregational Church in Port St. Lucie.

A Funeral service will follow immediately in the church at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.
