IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frank W
Tolton Sr.
April 2, 1930 – April 11, 2025
Frank W. Tolton, Sr. died peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025, a week after turning 95, in his Palm City home surrounded by family. He was preceded by his loving wife, Shirley, in January of 2002 after 48 years of marriage. Born in Windsor, Ontario to parents, Aurore and Charles, Frank joined his siblings, Chuck, Thomas, and Dorothy. After a quick move to Detroit, the family settled in the warmer climate of West Palm Beach, Florida where Frank attended St. Ann's Catholic School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Marines and proudly served during the Korean War. After completing his tour of duty, he became a carpenter and a general contractor.
Ft. Lauderdale beach is where he fell in love with Shirley (nee Kurowski) and soon after married the blonde beauty who was his rock as they raised five children. Frank followed the construction projects up and down the coast, from Delray Beach up through Palm City. He was well respected in the industry and gave guidance to any and all who asked.
Tolton is survived by five children Ann (Don) Davis, Mary (Liam) Sullivan, Margaret Rivers, Frank (Catherine) Tolton, Jr., and Matthew (Elizabeth) Tolton. The Lord blessed him with 14 Grandchildren Katie, Meghan, Jeffrey, Jenna, David, Patrick, Elizabeth, Connor, Sarah, Samantha, Chloe, Jonas Rory, Lukas, and predeceased by baby Caroline, and 7 Great-Grandchildren Tyler, Sydney, Olivia, Kahle, Margaux, Kenly, and Mae. He loved all of them dearly.
Affectionately dubbed "The Stickler" he will be remembered as a task master, measure twice cut once type of guy. He was an excellent provider to his family and welcomed helping them, especially when it came to negotiating the purchase of cars, tires, or appliances. Frank loved the Miami Dolphins, his mountain home in Asheville, NC, a strong Manhattan, listening to Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, and daily breakfast at Spiro's Taverna.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church and burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.
In memory of this one-of-a-kind family patriarch, the family requests that tokens of love and remembrance be made through donations to Tunnel To Towers Foundation ( T2T.org) or Treasure Coast Hospice.
