Fred George Seigel (called Freddy, but most recently called Dundee), 88, of Stuart died on Friday, May 16, 2025, at his home surround by his loving family.
He was born on August 9,1936 to Benjamin Seigel & Goldie (neeSchnabel) Seigel (both predeceased); & has a much younger sister, Annette Seigel Richmond of NY.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY & moved to Far Rockaway (Queens), NY. He lived there from childhood until he got married at the age of 23 in 1959.
He is survived by his two daughters, Dale Seigel Young & her husband, Kevin, & Allison Seigel Gordon; his 3 grandchildren, Mathew, Samantha, & Tyler; & wife, Theresa Seigel.
He attended the Hebrew Institute of Long Island in Far Rockaway, NY until 8th grade. He then attended Far Rockaway High School and graduated in June of 1954. He then continued his education at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa & at the City College of New York (CCNY) studying engineering.
Early on he worked at Howard Hughes & later developed his own company in 1968 with his partner, Steven Aivzian. They called it Semiconductor Technology Inc. (STI) and was located in College Point (Queens), NY. STI played a leading role in transistor technology, commercial products made in industrial telecom, & military & domestic international markets with a quality and zero defects policy for over 30 years.
He moved to Stuart in the late 70s & then to Jupiter Island, FL. He was very philanthropic, and he set up a scholarship in memory of his late father, Benjamin, at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in 1980.
He loved Corvettes & always, from youth, loved the beach, ocean, & fishing. He was very athletic & played basketball, golf, & tennis, & waterskied. He was a pilot for his self owned plane.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Jewish National Fund to plant trees in Israel.
