Fred Sorrentino Sr., 84, Stuart, Florida passed away on December 2, 2018 at Martin Medical Center, Stuart.
Born in Newark, NJ, he had been a resident of Stuart for over 20 years coming from Miami Beach, FL.
Before retiring he was the vice-president of the Deltona Corporation and was instrumental in the building of the Polo Club in Boca Raton, FL. He also was a saxophonist in his younger days with Freddy Tino and the Cyclones along with his wife and vocalist Shirley. He was credited with bringing the Twist to New Orleans.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City, FL.
Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Rubin and her husband Guy of Port St. Lucie, FL; his granddaughters, Alexandra Rubin and Aubrey Rubin both of Los Angeles, CA and his sister, Carmela Sorrentino of Stuart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Sorrentino in 1998 and his son Fred Sorrentino in 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Forest Hills Palm City Chapel.
