Obituary of Frederick Sheets

Please join us in celebrating the life of Frederick Wesley Sheets, 76, who passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 14th at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, FL. Frederick "Freddie" was born in Whitehouse New Jersey and lived in Connecticut for many years, then moving to Hobe Sound for past 25 years.

Frederick was a senior test engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation for over 39 years and was currently employed by the US Navy; he dedicated his career to the advancement of military and commercial helicopters. His love for helicopters developed from his time spent in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a sailor, tri-athlete, diver and loved to ski. Frederick was always cheerful. There was never an instant where he wasn't trying to make someone laugh through cracking a joke or just being himself. He never spoke a complaint and always encouraged others to be strong. He was a happy, caring and one of a kind man, who truly will be missed.

Frederick is survived by his wife Marie Pengue Sheets of 31 years, daughters, Sarah and her husband Josh Christoph of Jupiter, Samantha Sheets and Deirdrah Sheets, both of Hobe Sound and one granddaughter, Isla Sumner Christoph, his sister in law Pamela and her husband Terry Maher, his niece and nephew Stephanie and Nicholas Maher.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made of behalf of Frederick to the Wounded Warriors of South Florida at www.wwofsf.org/donate. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Hobe Sound.
