Obituary of Frederick Thorpe

Frederick W. Thorpe Jr., 85, of Stuart, Florida, died June 8, 2012 at Salerno Bay Manor, Stuart, Florida.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he had been a resident of Stuart for 34 years coming from Feasterville, Pennsylvania.

During World War II, he served in the US Navy.

Prior to retiring, he was a machinist and tool and die maker for Pratt Whitney in West Palm Beach for 19 years.

He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City and a member and past president of the International Association of Machinist Local 971, West Palm Beach..

Survivors include sons, Frederick W. Thorpe III of Clermont, Florida and Conover, North Carolina, Craig A. Thorpe of Casselbury, Florida and Keith T. Thorpe of Stuart; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Thorpe and a son Ronald Thorpe.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on June 13, 2012, at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes - Palm City Chapel with a vigil prayer service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on June 14 at Holy Redeemer Church. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Palm City.
