IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary "Chris"
Christian Anderson
July 7, 1964 – August 7, 2022
Gary Christian Anderson July 7, 1964-August 7, 2022
"Red Bird"
Gary Christian Anderson (Chris), 58, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2022, in Stuart, Florida.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Gary Kent Anderson. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Margie Anderson, and his children: Aubrey Ash (Tarun Ash), Cameron Anderson, Cali Beltran (Ryan Beltran, and Hanah Siler (Joshua Siler). In addition to his wife and kids Chris is survived and remembered by his mother Marjie Anderson, four brothers, four sisters, and his 10 grandchildren.
Chris was born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. One of Chris' passions throughout life was always sports. From a young age Chris was gifted in all things sports and was a true natural athlete. Starting out with pee-wee football, he expanded his love of sports to soccer, track and field, pole vaulting and everything in between. Chris was a true example of the story of David and Goliath when it came to sports. With his small stature and flaming red hair he was often underestimated. It wasn't until he blew past his opponents with ease that it was apparent, he was a force to be reckoned with. Chris played sports at South Grand Prairie High school up until graduation. After graduation Chris followed his great faith in Christ and chose to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Viña del Mar, Chile. While in Chile he learned fluent Spanish and taught the gospel to the people of Chile for 20 months before returning home to Texas. Following his return to Texas, Chris acquired a job at LTV as an entry level mechanic. No one could've guessed that this job would pave the way to a 37-year career in the Aerospace manufacturing business which Chris diligently worked as a manager up until his untimely passing. Chris was involved in many major projects during his aerospace career. Some of his most memorable airframes he worked on were the C-130, C17, Blackhawk helicopters, Chinook helicopters, B2 Stealth bomber, as well as the Global Hawk unmanned drones. While working on the cutting edge B2 bombers Chris was the recipient of the Silver Eagle Award for his service. Toward the end of his career Chris transitioned into private and commercial aerospace manufacturing. Despite his grit and devotion to his aerospace career, Chris' alternate aspirations were in the field of literature and academics. Chris often found solace in poetry and authored several children's stories with deep ambitions to have them published.
The hard work exemplified by Chris was not exclusive to sports or his career. Chris showed the most diligence and dedication within the four walls of his home. On October 2, 1987, Chris married his sweetheart, Margie in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Dallas temple. Together they built a life on a foundation of faith, integrity, and determination; qualities that Chris and Margie both epitomize. He raised his four children and instilled in them a love of God, a hard work ethic, confidence, and fortitude. Chris' love for his family was unmeasurable. His love was most obviously apparent by the beaming smile he had on his face around his grandkids, and more subtly apparent by the sacrifices made daily to provide and serve his family.
In addition to the service he gave to his family, he was also a dedicated servant at church. Throughout his life Chris served in countless callings, including several in the Elders Quorum and Bishopric. After periods of time spent working in Texas, California, and New Mexico Chris' final adventure ended in Florida. In the final chapter of his life Chris found peace walking the beaches of Stuart, barefoot and happy with his sweetheart.
Chris Anderson was a giant of a man. Someone who built his life from the ground up and graduated from the "School of Hard Knocks." He will be missed by all who knew him. Until we meet again.
A memorial service will be held honoring Chris on Monday August 15, 2022, at 10:30am CT at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
