Obituary of George Brown
George W. Brown, 97, died May 10, 2008, at Sandhill Cove in Palm City, FL.
Before retirement, he was the Principal of Mamaroneck Junior High School in Westchester County, New York.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was with the Seventh Fleet in the Philippines when the war ended. After WWII, while serving in the U.S. Naval Reserves, he was appointed Director of the Naval Reserve Officers School 3-10 in Stamford, Connecticut. He retired as a Commander, USNR.
He was preceded in death by his life-long friend and wife, Mildred S. Brown of Cincinnatus, New York.
His cremated remains shall be interred next to Mildreds remains in the family plot in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, New York.
Local arrangements are entrusted to Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.
