Obituary of George DeGennaro
George Thomas DeGennaro, 83, of Port St. Lucie, passed away November 3, 2008 at St. Lucie Medical Center. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Florida 21 years ago from his birthplace. George was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII, in the South Pacific. He worked for the U.S. Post office for 20 years before retiring. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness - Kingdom Hall in Jensen Beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Philomena DeGennaro.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph DeGennaro of Miami, Robert DeGennaro of Franklin Park, NJ, James DeGennaro of TN and George DeGennaro Jr. of Stuart; a brother, Tony DeGennaro of Brooklyn, NY and eight grandchildren.
A visitation will be 5 - 7:00 PM, Thursday at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.
A graveside service will be 11:00AM, Friday at Fernhill Memorial Park, Stuart.
