Obituary of George Dermott

George R. Dermott Sr., 78, of Port St. Lucie, FL, died April 10, 2014 at Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for over 28 years coming from Edison, NJ.

During the Korean War he served in the US Navy.

Before retiring he had been a manager for United Parcel Service in Newark, NJ for 25 years.

He was a member of the Meadow Rod and Gun Club and the Loyal Order of Moose both in Edison.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Laura Dermott; his sons, George R. Dermott Jr. and Steven J. Dermott and his wife Mary Rose and his daughter Laura Winston and her husband Corey all of Port St. Lucie; a brother Roy A. Dermott and his wife Ruth of Oakridge, NJ and three grandchildren, Ricky Dermott, Katy Winston and Nicholas Dermott.

SERVICES: There will be a memorial service at 1:00 PM on April 19, 2014 at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City. Inurnment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, FL with military honors provided by the US Navy.
