IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George
Mullinax
May 5, 1938 – September 23, 2022
George Donald Mullinax, born May 5, 1938 in Greenville, South Carolina and longtime resident of Stuart, Florida and Saluda, North Carolina was called home on September 23, 2022. Our Dad was first and foremost a man of deep conviction. He lived his faith and never faltered in his service to God for over 60 years. He supported missionaries all over the world his entire life, choosing to faithfully tithe in ways meaningful to him in supporting the spread of God's word around the globe.
Our Dad was also quick with a joke, often telling the punchline twice to ensure you had the full effect of the intended humor. Usually upon the initial telling of the punchline, he would bend over in laughter, unable to get the words out; eyes shut tight and shoulders shaking. Let us tell you a few more things about our Dad. At the end of his life there were three things that stood out: He still prayed and sought the Lord's comfort, he told us of his love and pride in who we are as his children and he spoke of his deep love of our Mother, his bride of 58 years. It was our honor and a blessing to spend the final weeks of his life standing watch over him along with Thea, his devoted nurse who ensured he was well and who was with him when God parted the veil to welcome him home.
More formally, George D. Mullinax was preceded in death by his beloved Granddaughter, Alyse Mackena Mullinax and is survived by his family. Of note, our Mother, Jean Mullinax. Two children, Samuel D Mullinax and his wife Dee Ann; Mellissa Mullinax Cossler and her husband Jamie. Grandchildren Amanda Jean Roman (Brent), Evan Mullinax Ganus, Reif Mims (Cristal) & Kaden Cossler. Great Grandchildren: Mae Ann Mims , Mathias Don Cole, Elena Mims and Alivia Mims. He is also survived by his twin Sister, JoAnn (Sam) Banks.
A private family ceremony will take place at Parker Branch Cemetery in Okeechobee, Florida on October 3rd at 11:00 AM. In closing, we want to share a quote from our Dad "If you look out for the Lord, He will look out for you."
In Loving Memory,
Mellissa Cossler & Sam Mullinax
