Obituary of George Tilley
George Henry Tilley, 73, of Stuart, Florida, died June 25, 2011 at the Treasure Coast Hospice Harper House, Stuart.
Born in Trenton, Michigan, he lived in Stuart for 16 years, coming from Lincoln Park, Michigan. During the Vietnam War he was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City.
Before retiring he was the building superintendant of Hannah House, Detroit for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife Nancy A. Tilley of Stuart; daughters, Lori L. Humenik of Palm City; Ann Gildersleeve of Austin Texas; sons Jon Gildersleeve and Matt Gildersleeve both of Stuart and Paul Gildersleeve of Lincoln Park, Michigan; brothers, David Tilley of South Rockwood, Michigan and Gerald Tilley of Stuart; sisters, Caroline Leedy of Trenton, Michigan, Midge Gaynier of South Rockwood and Anna Stumpmeir of Carleton, Michigan and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Blossom Knopp.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockwood. Inurnment will also be in Michigan.
