Germaine F. Russell, 97, of Palm City, Florida, passed away on March 22, 2019 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Hay Madeira House, Stuart, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Francois and Angelina Gagnon and the wife of the late William E. Russell.

Born in Fair Haven Massachusetts, She had been a resident of Palm City for a year and a half, coming from Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

Survivors include her four devoted daughters Jacqueline Ouellette and her husband Charles of Palm City, Susan Marino and her husband Richard of Stuart, Patricia Haley and her husband James of Port St. Lucie and Lisa McCarthy and her husband Keith of Palm City; six beloved grandchildren Jeffrey Ouellette, Adam McCarthy, Nathan Ouellette, Ali Senatro, Jae Bratton, and William Haley and their spouses and loved ones; one precious great grandson, Dean Senatro; many dear nieces and nephews; and two special friends Irene Haley and Bertha McCarthy. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by eight siblings. Sadly she was the last survivor of her generation of both the Gagnon and Russell families. They were truly the greatest generation.

Germaine led an active life, balancing work with raising her daughters with her husband. Germaine and Bill enjoyed square dancing for many years. She was a talented artist. Her many oil pantings are proudly hung in her family's homes. She loved to entertain and bake and cook, especially for her grandchildren at the family cottage in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

There will be a memorial service at 3 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Forest Hills Palm City Chapel. There will be a funeral service for her in Connecticut this summer where she will be buried with her husband at her family's convenience.
