Obituary of Gertrude Brauer

Gertrude "Geri" Angela Brauer, 78, of Hobe Sound, FL, died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Parkway Health and Rehabilitation, Stuart, FL. Born in Astoria, NY she had been a resident of Hobe Sound, FL for 25 years coming from Bellerose, NY.

Before retiring, Geri had been a dental hygienist in Astoria for many years. She had been a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Hobe Sound.

Geri devoted most of her time and energy as a loving caregiver to her entire family and friends, always willing to lend a hand. Her greatest attribute was her leadership. She was a passionate believer in God, her country, and family unity.

Survivors include her son, Frank M. Lodato of Port St. Lucie; her daughter, Karen Lorusso of Stuart, FL; her grandchildren, Anthony Lorusso and his wife Samantha of Hobe Sound, Vincent Lorusso and his Fianc Kristine Dailey of Stuart, Karen Lodato and Carolin Lodato both of Port St. Lucie and her great grandchildren, Arianna Lorusso and Ryleigh Lorusso. She was preceded in death by husband Walter Brauer and seven siblings.

SERVICES: There will be a cryptside service at 1:30 PM on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, immediately followed by entombment in the mausoleum.
