IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gloria Lee
Jackson Wolfe
March 2, 1927 – August 11, 2023
Obituary of Gloria Lee Jackson Wolfe
March 2, 1927 – August 11, 2023
Wolfe, Gloria J, 96, of Stuart, FL passed away peacefully in her home on August 11, 2023. Gloria will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Gloria was born in Everett, WA March 2, 1927. However, she always considered herself a Texan, having moved to Beaumont,
Texas when she was just 7 years old.
Gloria graduated from Beaumont High School and then went on to Bellhaven University in Jackson MI. After only a year, Gloria transferred to University of Texas as a sophomore because she missed TX so much. She did not finish college, because she met the love of her life, Paul J. Wolfe. The two were married August 21, 1948, when Gloria was 21 years old.
Gloria had quite an adventurous spirit. This spirit encouraged her to jump off the roof of her parent's garage (twice), to attend Chapman School of Seamanship at 59 years old, and to learn how to fly planes at 71 years young. She and Paul flew a twin-prop plane from their home in Stuart, to their daughter's home in Redwood Shores, CA. just for the experience. Paul was her strength, her compass, and her constant companion. They enjoyed cooking, traveling, and decorating new projects together.
During Paul's career, Gloria was a stay-at-home mother, and a devoted executive's wife. Upon their retirement and move to Stuart, FL, they became very involved in their local community. Gloria was President (2000-2001) of the Board of Directors Library Foundation, in Stuart. She was on the Architectural Review Committee at Sailfish Point, she and Paul started the Sailfish Point Country Club Library, and she served as Commodore of the Sailfish Point Yacht Club. She and Paul were also very involved in the "Ovation Concert Series" at the Lyric Theater.
Gloria was proceeded in death by her precious Paul. She is survived and remembered by their children Lee Ann Wolfe Carson (Mark), and Elizabeth Ann Wolfe Spyros (Nicholas), 5 grandchildren: Shaun (Nicole), Ashley, Sarah (Brandon), Paul, and Nicholas, 1 Great-grandchild: Konstantina.
A celebration of life and ceremony of commitment will be held 11 a.m., Sept, 8, 2023 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, 2001 SW Murphy Rd, Palm City, FL 34990
