Gloria S. Jones, 87, of Port St. Lucie, died July 31, 2013 at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie, FL. She was born in Lakewood, Ohio and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 21 years coming from Harrisonburg, Virginia.

She received her bachelor degree in science from Flora Stone Mather Center for Women at Western Reserve University, Cleveland. Before retiring she had been a social worker with the State of Virginia child services in Harrisonburg for 25 years. She volunteered with the St. Lucie County Schools and Habitat for Humanity. She attended the First United Methodist Church, Port St. Lucie.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Bert Jones of Port St. Lucie; Daughters, Cheryl Braden of Chesterfield, VA, Linda Greenwald of Port St. Lucie, Laura Young of Verona, VA and Barbara Feivor of Roanoke, VA; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Karl Scheucher.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on August 5, 2013 at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on August 6, 2013 at the funeral home with interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
