In Loving Memory of Grant Elgin (Walker) Hill

March 2, 1932 - May 28, 2025

Grant Elgin Hill Sr peacefully passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the age of 93.

He was born March 2, 1932, in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada to parents Norman and Leola Hill.  He was retired and genuinely enjoyed simple pleasures - furniture refinishing and repurposing, gardening, playing guitar, singing, and preaching about the good news of God's Kingdom.  He was a baptized member of Jehovah's Witnesses for almost 66 years.  Grant had a wonderful, warm smile and was kind and gracious to everyone he met.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

His first wife, Julie Narkiewicz, preceded him in death on October 21, 1984.  He married Maggie Byrd on July 12, 1986. She preceded him in death on August 7, 2024.

Grant is survived by his children: James Lee, Steve Hill (Sandra), Grant E Hill Jr. (Kimberley), Sandra Yeomans (Murray), Carlene Hicks (Carl), Marian Berecz, one sister, Karen Hill and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Internment will be a private ceremony.

There will be a memorial on June 28, 2025, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 880 St. Paul Street, Rochester, NY 14605, at 2:00pm. The memorial service will also be available to view on Zoom:
