Obituary of Gustavo Espinosa

Dr. Gustavo Adolfo Espinosa Jr.

38, passed away January 16, 2010 in Palm City, FL. Dr. Espinosa was born November 6, 1971 in Evanston, IL. Dr. Espinosa received his BS in 1994 from Drake University in Iowa, was a graduate of ALSM Medical College in University of Illinois at Chicago, class of 2000 and completed his residency in Jackson Memorial Hospital at University of Miami. He was presently working at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center as a psychiatrist for Behavioral Health Services, inpatient and outpatient programs. Dr. Espinosa also served as Clerkship Director in Psychiatry for FSU. Gus was an avid reader, he enjoyed History, and took pride in exercising and staying fit. He also enjoyed going to the practice range and going hunting with his Dad at their cabin in Michigan. Gus's dedication to his work and family was evident in his ethics, compassion, conviction, and most of all he was loyal to his principles and family values. Gus loved spending time with his children and will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and patients. He is survived by his wife, Mercedes Espinosa of Palm City, FL; six children, Krystelle, Nicolas, Rachel, Jacob, Jesse and Isabella Espinosa; mother, Cecilia T. Espinosa also of Palm City, FL; father, Dr. Gustavo A. Espinosa Sr. of Chicago, IL; grandmother, Carmelita Troncoso; brother, David A. Espinosa; sister, Susan M. Espinosa; mother and father-in-law, Graciela and Rolando Valle and a host of many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A gathering for family and friends will be held Thursday, January 21st from 4-9 PM at the Forest Hills Funeral Home with a wake service at 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 22nd at 12 Noon at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by FOREST HILLS FUNERAL HOME

A trust fund for the children has been set up at Wachovia Bank under the name of Mercedes Espinosa in trust for all six children. You can go into any of the Wachovia branches to make a donation.
