Obituary of H. Walker
H. Richard Walker 84, of Stuart, Florida, died October 3, 2008 at his home.
Born in Inkster, North Dakota, he had been a resident of Stuart for 35 years coming from Chicago, Illinois.
During World War II he served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.
He received a Bachelors degree from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
He was member of Palm City Presbyterian Church and the Stuart Yacht and Country Club.
He started his brokerage career as a managing partner with Paine Webber in Chicago and Philadelphia. Before that he was a co-owner of Walker Brothers Restaurants in Chicago for 10 years,
Survivors include daughters, Susan Walker Novak of Stuart, Nancy W. Cartier of Hobe Sound and Leslie Beard of Fullerton, California; a brother Everett B. Walker of Atherton, California; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Walker and a brother Victor E. Walker in 2003.
Services will be held at a later date.
