Hargreaves "Preacher" Fernandez Nairne, age 86, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away on October 15, 2017 at The Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce, Florida.

Born in Jamaica, W.I., he had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 21 years coming from the Bronx, New York.

Before retiring, he was employed in the Housekeeping Dept.at New York Hospital, New York City.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Sylvia Nairne of Port St. Lucie; his daughter Jacqueline Nairne-Reid of Ontario, Canada; his stepson, Lloyd "Keith" Matterdeen and his wife Delores of the Bronx; stepdaughter Francine Grant of New York; his sister Merlin McGrath of Port St. Lucie; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis W. Nairne; sisters, Nora Nairne, Mavis "Joyce" Campbell; Rhema Nembhard; and Jacqueline Bennett; and brothers, Milton Nairne; George Nairne; and Roy "Derry" Nairne.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday, October 27, 2017, with service directly following at 11:00 AM at the All Nations Life Development Center, Port St. Lucie. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City
