Harold (Hal) Vorpagel, (88), of Palm City, Florida, formerly of Clinton Twp, Michigan, passed away peacefully, on April 21, 2020 with his wife Mary Jane by his side.
He was born on March 7, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from Southeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan he joined the Air Force serving two years. He then got a job working at Chrysler Corporation for the next forty-two years, ending up as a financial analyst when he retired in 1991. He and his wife took a vacation to sunny Florida and liked it so much they decided to move to Palm City, Florida in 2004.
He loved playing golf with his buddies from Chrysler and he was an avid fisherman going out in the Atlantic Ocean on the Seven B's charter fishing boat many times a week.
He is predeceased in death by his birth father (Harold Vorpagel) who passed away when he was only two and was raised from the age of twelve by his mother Mabel Shikany and stepfather, John Shikany and his sister Virginia (Bill) Ziegler. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane and his three children, John Vorpagel (Linda), Kathy Mieczkowski (Cliff) and Patty Vorpagel; five grandchildren Jennifer (Brandon) Simensen, Jonathon Vorpagel, Nicole Gulaszewski, Corey Vorpagel and Hannah Klann and five great-grandchildren Zachary, Jeffrey, Tyler, Nicholas, Abby and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held in Michigan at a later date.
