Harry William McCandless was born in Newark NJ on May 8,1936.

He is survived by his long-time partner Antoinette (Toni) Zigrand. He was preceded in death by his brothers John and Thomas McCandless. Harry was an Army veteran. Harry moved to Florida and was employed by the City of Stuart as a mechanic in the city garage. After retirement, he could be found driving Stuart's courtesy golf cart around town, giving rides and tours.

For a time, Harry had a mobile repair service called Harry Hero Fix It. Harry was known for being able to fix anything, and his escapades made MacGyver look like a novice. Harry loved camping. During his lifetime, he camped up and down the east coast with friends and family, in time he traded in his tents, campers and boats for a Harley which he enjoyed riding with Toni, his companion for many years.
