Obituary of Hazel Hartnell

Hazel L. Hartnell, 87, of Stuart, died February 2, 2014 at Martin Nursing and Restorative Care. She was born in Ruston, LA, lived most of her life in Lawrence, Long Island, NY raising her family. She had been an operator for New York Telephone before retiring after 30 years. Hazel and her husband, Eugene, moved to the Treasure Coast of Florida in 1983. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Hazel devoted her life to her family, she was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Eugene Hartnell of Stuart; sons; Eugene Hartnell Jr. of Lawrence, Long Island, NY and Ronald Hartnell of Franklin Square, NY; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hartnell of Winter Springs; great grandson, Robert DiGiacomo of Winter Springs and a brother, Edwin Knowles of West Monroe, LA.

Visitation: 1 - 3PM, Monday, February 10, 2014 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.

Funeral Service: 1:00PM, Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City.
