IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen
Xanthakis
February 11, 1943 – March 30, 2022
HELEN XANTHAKIS (nee Karey)
FEBRUARY 11, 1943-MARCH 30, 2022
Beloved wife and mother, Helen passed in peace on March 30, 2022.
Born and raised in Biddeford, Maine, the only child of Peter and Sophie Karey, Helen met the love of her life, Rev. Constantine Xanthakis and they were married in September 1962. They began their life's journey together in Rochester, Minnesota and during that journey, lived in Cranston, Rhode Island, Brooklyn, N.Y. and Natick, MA before retiring to the Sunshine State, Florida.
They were blessed with two wonderful sons, Anthony and Alexander, who were the joys of her life. She gained a daughter, Christine in 1999 when she and Anthony married.
Helen had an infectious smile, a calming presence, a great sense of humor and was the definition of a lady. Her greatest joys were cooking incredible Christmas and Easter meals and desserts, with her specialty, her famous Baklava for her family and friends. She loved traveling and spent many summers in her beloved Greece, as well as cruises, including the Queen Mary for her 50 th wedding anniversary with her children. She was a lover of romantic comedy movies and was a romantic at heart.
The joy she brought to those around her cannot be replaced, and she will be remembered for the kindness she gave to all that were privileged to know her. We are better for having had her in our lives and will miss her forever.
The family would like to extend their upmost gratitude to Helen's caregivers, including Sharon, Claudia, Gina and Carol who took incredible care of her. They are all angels, and we thank them all.
