OBITUARY-HILMA JACQUILINE ARNOLD
On March 13th, 2023, Hilma J. Arnold (Jackie) passed away at the age of 96.
Jackie was born on May 7, 1926, in Norfolk, Virginia to Hilma and William Heath. Before Jackie could finish High School, she left so she could work to help support her mother. She got a job on the Naval Base as a switchboard operator. When the war broke out her sweetheart, whom she met at age 15, enlisted in the Navy. When the war ended, she made good on her promise to marry him. Jackie married Clarence Arnold (Pete) at the age of 19. A year later their 1st child was born and four years after their second.
Jackie and Pete felt led to move to Canton, Ohio so Pete could go to Bible School. During this time Jackie went to work at Aultman Hospital as a Nurse's aide. While in Ohio they had their 3rd child. In the early seventies the family picked up and moved to West Palm Beach, Florida and then they moved to Port Salerno, Florida where Pete started his plumbing business. They also started a new church known as Morningside Church in Port St Lucie, Florida. After moving to Stuart, Florida Jackie served her community by doing volunteer work at Martin Memorial Hospital as a Pink Lady. She also served through her church for many years. In Jackie and Pete's retirement years they moved to Port St Lucie, Florida in St Lucie West and enjoyed going to Grace Family Church. Jackie and Pete also enjoyed their grandchildren and their great-grandchildren until Pete's death in 2012.
Jackie moved to a retirement center in Traditions the same year Pete passed and continued to enjoy her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. August of 2019 Jackie moved into her youngest child's home where she lived until her passing. Jackie was a loving God-fearing woman who was a mother and Friend to all she met. she truly loved people but most of all she Loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jackie always had a smile and a word of encouragement for those she would come into contact with. If she said she would pray for you, you could count on her just doing that. A hug from Jackie was like good medicine, filled with love.
Jackie is survived by her three children Diane, Debbie and Dana and her much loved grandchildren Brian, Bradley, Jackie, Billy, Jeffrey, Kayla, Kelsey and Kelby. Also, her Great-grandchildren Taylor, Logan, Lauren, Lindsey, Tyler, Aiden, Rheese, Corbin, Jameson and Kinsley, Brother Ronald Heath. Jackie will be missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service followed by burial will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park at 12:00 P.M., on Monday, March 20, 2023.
