Obituary of Howard Lapen
Howard C. Lapen, 92, of Palm City, passed away August 30, 2015 at Treasure Coast Hospice. He was born in Ridgewood, Queens, NY and had been a resident of Palm City since 1985, having moved from Long Island, NY. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during WWII. He had been an investigator in the insurance industry before retirement.
He was an excellent golfer, and at the age of 76 shot his age in a tournament which is quite a feat for a golfer.
He is survived by his step-son, Donald B. Miller Sr. and his wife, Maureen of Stuart; niece, Jennifer Nelson of New York, NY; nephew, Howard Nelson of CO; step-grandson, Donald B. Miller, Jr of Plainview, NY; step-granddaughter, April A. Miller of Stuart and step-great grandson, Christopher J. Miller of Stuart;his nephew James Turner in CA, Patricia Speer in NY, and Richard Fogarty and his wife Maryann, in NY, and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lapen in 2006.
A graveside service will be held, 1:30PM, September 3, 2015 at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, with Pastor Tom Hartley officiating.
