Obituary of Hugh Quigley

Hugh A. Quigley, 83, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died October 5, 2013, at Treasure Coast Hospice Harper House, Stuart, Florida.

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he was a resident of Tradition in Port St. Lucie for 4 years coming from Palm City, Florida where he lived for 20 years.

During Korean War he served in the US Navy.

He held a law degree from LaSalle University.

He was of the Catholic Faith. He was a Rotarian.

Prior to retirement he was the Chief Operating Officer for the Sisters of Charity St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey for over 25 years. He also was the administrator of Sisters of Charity St. Elizabeth Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Before that he was a hospital administrator with U.S. AID in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa and in Saudi Arabia.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Florence D. Quigley of Port St. Lucie. They were married on December 23, 1955 in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Survivors also includes sons, Mark Quigley of Sussex, New Jersey and Port St. Lucie and David Quigley of West Milford, New Jersey; daughters, Barbara Breckenridge of Leesburg, Florida and Valerie Joseph of Easton, Maryland and five grandchildren, He was preceded in death by five siblings.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from12:00 to 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel with a service at 2:00 PM with military honors provided by the US Navy. Inurnment will be at a later date in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, FL.
