Obituary of Irwin Wishney

Irwin P. Wishney, 84, of Palm City, FL, passed away on February 5, 2015 at the Martin

Memorial Medical Center, Stuart, FL.

Born May 22, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY, he had been a resident of Palm City for 24 years

coming from Ipswich, MA.

He received his Bachelor's degree from NYU and his Master's Degree in Mechanical

Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston.

During the Korean War, he served in the US Navy on an aircraft carrier and served as

flight navigator.

Prior to retirement he was a mechanical engineer with General Electric Aircraft Engines

in Lynn, MA for over 20 years and had also worked with the NASA Apollo Program

Lunar Module for the moon landing.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Linda Wishney, of Palm City; his sons, Mark

Wishney of Wenham, MA and Lawrence Wishney of Jensen Beach, FL; his daughter,

Pamela Moyer and her husband Isaac of San Antonio, TX; his step-daughter, Jeanne

Dupont-Nishimoto and her husband John of New York City; grandchildren, Jesse and

Gabriel Moyer and Mina and Tyler Nishimoto; nieces Anne Ruth Sloop and husband,

Dr. Ronald Sloop, Sharon Lerner and husband Dr. Jay Lerner, both of Palm Beach

Gardens, FL, and Eileen Berman and husband Jay of Palm Beach, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Faye and Harry Wishney; brother, Larry

Wishney; and sister, Diana Billig.

There will be a service at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Forest Hills

Funeral Home, Palm City, FL, followed by burial at the South Florida VA National

Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL, with military honor provided by the US Navy.
